I took this deck to the Reading Store Championship this past Saturday, going 3-2. Game report will follow in the comments for those curious.

The deck came about from a fusion of two other decks (hence the name). I'd been toying around with a relatively cookie-cutter Martell Wolf attrition deck, built around the bizarre interaction between Planky Town Trader and Ramsay Snow. In short, if you have 5 gold bestowed on the Trader and trigger the interrupt to put Ramsay into play, Ramsay's forced reaction triggers before Trader leaves play. This not only means that you can choose Trader as the target for Ramsay's trigger, but also that you can trigger the Trader a second time, and effectively trade your 1 gold (plus the 5 you bestowed) character for 2 cost 5 characters. For those curious, I didn't get this combo off once all day.

The second deck was one shown to me by LGB. He had an unconventional Targ Wolf deck, built around Wise Master. Essentially, Master as a card is weak; however, one of the most exciting targets he can recur is Ward. Building out from that combo, Targ has Xaro Xhoan Daxos who likes unique attachments, and Needle lets you make a profit there while recurring targets you sacrifice with Roose Bolton and Ramsay - Roose being someone who likes Targ's burn. Possibly the most 'out there' (though definitely good!) choice is For the North!. However, boosting Roose for his trigger is nice (and the STR pump can be handy for a surprise challenge win), it does cantrip which is solid, and you can recur it with Wise Master to turn a bestowed gold into a card.

I like Luiz's deck, but having recently played the Martell I felt like it needed more abilities to cheat characters in and out of play, especially with regards to Flea Bottom. Toss in my having Alliance on the brain due to the charity joust deck and, hey ho, this weird thing was born.

I didn't get to test it too much before the event, but I felt like I was learning more about it (and myself) with every game. My last change before the event was to change out Summons for Trading with the Pentoshi, to give myself an out if I got econ-screwed (and obviously with 75 cards variance is higher).

My biggest regret is that it was only when it was too late that I realised the perfect card for this deck was Locked Away. With 3x Locked and 3x Ward, both able to recurred with Wise Master, the "play and protect one character with loads of power" strategy that was a big part of my two losses would've been prevented. Also, despite talking both cards up before, Needle and For the North! were pretty rubbish. In the Targ Wolf deck they make sense because they work with a greater proportion of your deck; but in this? Too inconsistent. One game I missed a For the North trigger round one, said "oh well, I'll get another chance soon", then didn't get the opportunity to trigger it until round 5. I only triggered Needle once all day, and that was to recur a Tumblestone Knight after a Ramsay trigger. Good value, it was not. Take out those 4 spots for 3x Locked and either Yunkai or a 2nd Astapor, and I think the deck improves a lot.

Otherwise, the deck did what I wanted it to do - win more than it lost and look ridiculous doing it. I recommend you try it!

Round One: Vs Ryan (Tyrell Stag) - Loss

This game was recorded for the White Walkers channel, so look out for that at some point in the future. The game started well enough for me with the deck working, giving me loads of econ early (but not too much). Unfortunately Ryan found Cressen to discard my Ward, and I couldn't find a second one or a Wise Master for the longest time. I did at least get the fun of tricking Ryan with the Astapor/Roose combo, reducing Robar's STR to 0 so that I got a free kill (well, save with a dupe) off Roose's trigger. I finally got to a Wise Master to recur Ward, steal Cressen and March him, but before I triggered the Wise Master to re-recur the Ward, Ryan Milked him (I hadn't triggered it already because I was afraid of him playing Queen's Men and stealing the Ward out of my hand). That meant I couldn't steal Robar, and Ryan then played (and duped) Mace to get the passive power win that turn before I could recover.

Round Two: Vs Rebecca (Stark Fealty) - Win

Rebecca was playing what seemed like a relatively normal Stark swarm deck, the most out-there card I saw being Wolf King. She got a pretty good start with Robb early, and before long he was joined by Eddard. The only thing that stopped her pushing through to a win at this point was the sheer lack of characters - after her initial redraw she had 0 in hand, and although she did see some more it wasn't quite enough to put up enough protection. She got up to 14 power, but 7 of it was on Eddard and Robb, and I got her board down to just those two. Next round I got to drop Marched, go first and marshal Ramsay, and it brought Rebecca down to 7 power - an amount I could manage! From there it was pretty plain sailing, as House of Black and White picked off what my military claim didn't.

Round Three: Vs Simon (Targ Fealty) - Win

Unfortunately for Simon, his deck decided it would be much better if he couldn't really play in this game. The game went 6 rounds, he played 2x Counting Coppers and a Building Orders, and he found... a single limited card. Consequently this was as straightforward as it gets. Afterwards we played another game, and he saw more limiteds than characters. Variance lol.

Round Four: Vs Jamie (NW Crossing) - Win

Jamie got off to a pretty good start, with the always annoying Aemon on the table to stop me chewing through people with claim. What he didn't see, however, was Jon Snow or Grenn in the early game, and that combined with me playing Astapor on the Favors From the Crown turn to get it bestowed for 6 gold (later 7 thanks to Unbridled Generosity!) meant that I could stop him getting power with any real speed. An annoying thing happened where I neglected to take Ward with Building Orders ("there won't be any targets for this!") and Jamie subsequently marshalled Yoren to take my Arya - and keep her out of spite until the end of the game, even as otherwise his board collapsed around him. Both of us were flooded with limiteds, seeing an obscene number between us, but Wise Master shenanigans let me still see enough relevant cards (recurring For the North for extra draw) and I pushed out a relatively comfortable win.

Round Five: Vs Stefan (Tyrell Conclave) - Loss

I don't remember too much of this game honestly, hopefully Stefan will be able to chip in. It was very close all the way through, but Stefan knew to fetch Maester Aemon with his Here to Serve, and it stopped me being able to truly dent his board - he was giving up winning intrigue or triggering his agenda in order to use Aemon's trigger for claim rather than, say, a knelt Garden Caretaker. This was absolutely the right move, as it stopped my Marched from reaching the two relevant characters he had - Aemon and an increasingly power-stacked Randyll Tarly. This is where I would have absolutely loved Locked Away, as had Randyll's power been reset in that last round it would've been a comfortable win for me. Alas, Stefan was able to maintain more power when time was called (11-8, I believe, with 6 or 7 of the power on Randyll), and that was that. I thought the saving grace would be at least a Conclave deck made the cut, but alas Stefan bubbled.

Final placement: 7th out of 24. Not bad for an Alliance deck!

A short and dumb question on this Planky Town Trader and Ramsay Snow thing: Which webpage do I visit these days to learn that kind of weirdness? I still havn't figured out (FB is a no-go)! Also: This is the point in the game where I remember moribund as a very elegant mechanic.

CardgameDB has an article for each pack that covers interesting/notable rulings for cards in that pack. That said, it looks like the one for Favor of the Old Gods never went up, sadly. The specific Planky ruling I think is pre-established based on, for instance, how Quentyn Martell and Benjen Stark work (If both die in the same window you can trigger Benjen's interrupt, trigger Quentyn's interrupt before Benjen leaves play, target Benjen to die, then trigger Benjen again to get a total of 4 power).

That Planky Town Trader + Ramsay Snow interaction is nutty.

GreatGopher 7

This is the first Alliance deck I've seen that really justifies the agenda, serious props for that!

@domse``@jcwamma The pack FAQs have been moving over to AGOT.Cards. Favor of the Old Gods is up there.

Interesting, in our game I was fearing Consuming Flames and you don't even run it (I suppose because Masters don't recur it?). I reported a bit on our game in my own TR but will add here - I used Aemon once to protect but then got to a point where Randyll was doing enough to defend mil and I had a fair few chuds flying in. Aemon then kept doing lone intrigue challenges which were stopped by bestow Astapor - probably a fair trade for both sides - you stop a conclave trigger and uo power, I have Randy able to win an extra challenge. Also I remember Arya flitting in and out a lot, though luckily for me Roose and Ramsey didn't do too much and you didn't have a crown. I also remember having to take Garlan for claim early game because he had power on him and I knew you had Ward in hand.
