Neoptolemos 794

Hi, it's the deck that I was playing after the massive outbreak of Free Folk and Targaryens. Although I still consider Kings of Winter as one of the worst agendas, I noticed that despite huge economy boost in last cycles, many decks still struggle with it and just made bigger cost curves, so I wanted to check if choke is viable now. In online testing deck performed quite well, dealing surprisingly well with t1 factions (Stark, Targaryen, even Tyrell sometimes), however it's quite difficult to play and has tough matchup against GJ, so with all these Fanatics and Raider/Pinch combos around I put this deck away for a while.

Plotline is quite set and I wouldn't make any changes. Ranger's Cache works well with Crow is Tricksy Bird and all plots now have acceptable stats with Winter Reserves. Valar is absolutely necessary due to Targaryens and they "no money" playstyle. I'm not pretty sure which chuds (reducers and ravens) should I play, so there is 1+2+2 here, but I'm not 100% convinced. Ranging Party can be also changed for something different, although bear in mind, that this deck lacks military icons. And remember, don't mulligan for Wall, it's useless in first rounds. White Tree is way much important.

Why not double Famine?

Neoptolemos 794

Because I can't cut off any other plot ;) Famine is great after FSoW or Valar, but if my opponent can survive it, it won't get me from behind (and loses initiative, important in midgame). Besides, rising popularity of shadows make Famine less effective.

Tricksy Bird is really only good on T1. Looks like your plan is Winter Reserves > Ranger's Cache > Tricksy Bird T3. That's too late, and it leaves you with a 5/0/1 and 4/0/1 plot line for T1 and T2. Way too slow. Cut Tricksy Bird and Ranger's Cache. I'd recommend False Spring or a 2nd 2 claim plot.

Also, with new Wall, you definitely want 3x Queenscrown and at least 2x Isle of Ravens. 3x Guarding the Realm to get their chuds out of the discard pile.

6 Limited is pretty low. I'd recommend adding Kingsroads.

I played it more before restrict update and against very popular Wars Crow is Tricksy Bird worked well even in 5th plot ;) I see your point, but Cache is very good to play before Valar and FSoW even without Crow. False Spring would help with the Wall, but in general people discard their cards to reserve, so the impact is not so high. Maybe it's slow, but stopped well Crossings and Free Folk, what is fine for me. 6 limiteds are supported with Meager Contributions and White Tree, using FB and Veteran Builders allow me to spend this gold even if I go first. Points about Queenscrown and Isle of Ravens are fair, the reason is simple - I have built it originally without Wall at all, made classic choke and then adres modifications ;) it may not be best stealing deck, but it's not the main point.
