Hello friends,
It's time to proprely share with you my second favorite deck of the GOT-era (second only to the old Free Companies - #freetherock)
The original idea of the deck is from Peter Schuck, who led the creation of it during the 2024 8 Regents Tournament. That was the tourney that made me a great Burning Bright enthusiast, so after that, it was obvious for me that I want to take something to Stahleck with that and of course, my favorite card in the game, the simple and elegant Halfman's Horde. Last year I managed to make Top 16 with an earlier version of this deck and it served me well throughout the year online and offline. My original plan was to take something different to Stahleck this year but I couldn't really find anything comparable in time. Also, I was pushing 200 games played with this by that point so I decided to take SoB for another round. Of course, I made some adjustments to prepare for the meta, the biggest of which was switching Dohaeris to The Mad King's Command. I was actually reluctant to do this, it was Sara who convinced me after the Hungarian National. I have to credit her with significant portion of my result, because MKC was crucial in more than half of my games. :D Otherwise lot of cancels against shadow decks/Bara control, and kill against everything else.
This is of course primarily an aggro deck but also surprisingly flexible and resilient against control deck. The biggest problem is usually Targ tempo decks, either Mercs or big dragons (especially now that I don't have Dohaeris). I faced two of them in the tournament, but luckly both in the swiss after 6-0.
I don't have the capacity right now to give a full tournament breakdown. Maybe later, but no promises. ;) Thank you for another great Stahleck. See you all next year (the latest-but hopefully also somewhere in-between).
Hear me Roar!
