Dogs & Children running around K-I-L-L-I-N-G. A fusion of the Bologna deck and La Plante's control deck, with input from the local Tumba Meta.

Opponents: 3x Targ, 4x Lanni & 1x GJ I think? Made the deck to tech against Baratheon & Greyjoy, my only loss was against Greyjoy. I expected Lanni to be the Nightmare matchup but.... won 4 of 'em.

Tactic:

Make power, defense it.

MVPs:

  • Filthy Accusation, deals with Balon, Tywin, Bob etc. Most importantly it helps you get Ice through.
  • Wildfire, unexpected out of Stark and helps deal with chud-decks. Play it wrong and you get rekt.
  • <3 Sansa <3 - Power? Yes.
  • Wolf Dreams, so good. Get Greywind or Lady, sometimes summer. Helps enable Fealty usage aswell.
  • Greywind. The #1 Best Card in Stark, no discussion. Won 3 games on eating my own chars for extra renown. He also got to eat and intimidate a wide range of tasty targets.
  • Kennelmaster + Lady is what you need against Balon. Or hope you can get an Ice through at the right time.
  • Feast/Pikes, puts your opponent on a very short clock.
  • Power challenge, it helps you win the game.

Are Gates of Winterfell provided enough draw for you? It is a bit surprising to not see any Ser Rodrik Cassel.

Buzz 554

You have to be efficient with your cards and defend intrigue when you can(often). Gates and Littlefinger were great all day. Rodrik isn't very interesting, he only works in military. I don't do military unless I have Ice or Winter is Coming usually. 4 str for 6 gold isn't very nice, he has no keywords and an effect that only works in the worst challenge. I'm unimpressed.

Jushirou 1

That's what I feel about Rodrik too ;)

I was asking because in my meta there is some guy that is playing 3xRodrik and he almost never defends intrigue - he was in top 4 at 56 people SC. Nice to hear different view on things than in my local meta :)

Buzz 554

Well yeah, there are several different versions of Stark Fealty. A more military oriented deck would love him, but I hate military :) With Kennel Masters and Doggies it's easy to defend Intrigue imo.

Jushirou 1

Exactly! With new Stark plot it will be even easier :)

What are your thoughts on Winterfell Castle?

Buzz 554

I dunno. I put one in, I think it's probably very good but I never got to play with it. Saw it once or twice, but as with most locations sometimes you can't give up the tempo of playing it. Think it's better in an even more defensive deck and it'll just get better over time.

Helps extra much against Greyjoy(Balon) and increases the value of Kennel Master.

It is quite good actually - you can jump into challenges and buff your characters so your opponent has challenge math screwed :)

"Wolf Dreams, so good. Get Greywind or Lady, sometimes summer. Helps enable Fealty usage aswell."

What do you mean by this? If anything this surely works against fealty since your house card is knelt.

Buzz 554

@JoePerson Yes, but Summer and Greywind are loyal. If you don't need Lady and haven't used Fealty, you can play Wolf Dreams after their Intrigue challenge that turn. Then you have it ready for next turn! It is quite often you can't use Fealty, this helps unsure you do and adds toolboxing.

How did Put to the Sword work for you? I find it very had to reserve the two gold because I want to save it for tricks with Lady or Winter is Coming.

And how did you survive without Confiscation? A Milk on Robb ruins the standing tricks and slows the deck down.

Buzz 554

@ignacioUsed PttS 1-2 times, it wasn't that hard to trigger. But I can certainly see cutting it for almost anything you like. I actually found that Confiscation slows my deck down a lot more than keeping my Robb Milked. Instead of Confiscation I can play Heads on Spikes or Feast to give me more Power, this is a pretty fast deck. Robb or Eddard got milked in 3 games I believe, but I don't mind it that much I have other good characters.

BUT it's important to note that my Plot Deck is very much a Meta-call. We don't like playing Milks that much in our Meta at the moment so I didn't feel I needed confiscation. Wildfire could replace Confiscation in a Meta that don't have a lot of Baratheon or Weenie-decks.

Buzz 554

*Confiscation can replace Wildfire.

Thanks for the insight. Helped me a lot with my own version of the deck.

Do you think this deck is still playable in a First Snow meta? There are so many important cheap characters that get shut down in the First Snow turn. No more suprises with kennel master, nobody to eat for grey wind. Maybe arya would remain if she still has a dupe. But if not, the big dudes like Robb and Eddy are really vulnerable, especially to Marched in the next round.

Buzz 554

Yeah it gets real hard to hang on. If we get a few more Wolves then maybe Wolf's wood could solve the problem, but it would worsen the deck in general I feel.. I think you need to banner to get some more 4drops.. But the Direwolf teched Stark Fealty is dead I feel. Hopefully the Stark Box and the new plot can solve some of the issues.
