okay so this is how i modified the deck for michigan after the new WOLFPACK came out, and based on my experiences last weeek at the indy regional.

deck went 4-1-1, played out really well, i had one bad game against targ that i lost.

so after indiana, i felt that the deck was pretty good, but could use a little improvement for the only game i lost (stark fealty). since stark was getting a bunch of new cards, i tried to get ahead of them.

as it turns out, no one really played any of the new cards, but i was prepared anyway. treachery can stop winterfell, and milks are good catch all answers

the biggest change from the last version is cutting locations (lannisport, casterly rock) and adding more stealth (second syrio and the wildling scouts). at the first regional, i never really utilized the extra intrigue challenge (seems better on paper with lord of the crossing than it actually is) and i only drew one card all day after winning a challenge. as this is very much a tempo oriented deck, there is no time for those types of cards.

i liked the guys who can ambush, so i went to full sets of gold cloaks and the hound. i cut brothel madame and joffrey, for 3 cost they had only one icon and the abilities, while decent, are just not worth it imo.

probably the biggest change though is addding milk of the poppy. most decks use tears of lys, and for good reason as that is a huge blowout card. however, there are some cards (melisandre, opposing lannisters, varys if you want) that are immune to tears. so, in a way milk is a trade off of versatility for raw power. it also is a better pre-challenges answer to a lot of the stark cards that stop events. further, this deck wants to be aggressive and plays first a decent amount. while its true that milk isnt as good when you go first, the reality is that if you tears a guy as first player they still get to swing back anyway.

i lost to targ in the swiss, main problem here was that i just couldnt get a tywin to stick - drew one late but he got milked; i confiscate; he gets milked again

in terms of cards i'd like to add, aka the pile of "maybe" cards: the things i do for love tears of lys the queens assassin third seal of the hand littlefinger

that said, there arent a ton of cards i want to cut. noble cause is probably necessary but i rarely led with it yesterday. naval may be too cute but there are some absolute blowout turns with it.

i beat multiple mirror matches, thanks in large part to milk and additional stealth. beat baratheon with a milk on melisandre and a naval at the right time. lost in top 4 to lanni kraken.

that was probably the one error in my preparation is that i did not look as much at the ct regionals lists, i focused more on just improving my deck for what i lost to, and based on the new set. in the game i played he got tywin, i didnt get him or a milk so i fell behind real quick. that deck might be better, i think this one has a shot against it depending on the draws.

anyway its been a good week and a half, won two mats, 30 power tokens, and now have a wooden house card too. this deck can go pretty fast and is pretty forgiving for someone who is not skilled like myself.

How to you use Naval Superiority ?

you play it whenever it can be a big blowout. sometimes if you have a good starting board and don't suspect calm over westeros, you can start with it. however, i think its better after first snow - you bounce all their guys then choke them off of gold to replay them. but sometimes you just see they have no economy, or are lacking characters so likely will play a summons.
