So this is the current version post WotN. See the previous deck for notes and thoughts. I tend to write long so I will save you all my me repeating myself too much.

Plotwise, I am happy with the core plots. I dropped Marched to the Wall for Counting Coppers because of the utility and high reserve vs First snow. Weapons at the Door fits my needs better than Confiscation so in it goes. I still want to justify Fallen from Favor, but I just can't. To many times I see that card blowing up in my face.

Card wise, I dropped 1x Little Bird, 1x Support of the People, 1x The Kraken's Grasp and added 2x Ahead of the Tide, 1 more The Seastone Chair and 1 more The Reader. If I am winning, I will just throw ahead of the tide out as a cantrip and accept that if I have to count coppers, I am praying to the drowned god and should just accept loosing initiative. Adding the 3rd reader brings me to 16 cards that can survive first snow. If you have to run 60 for whatever reason, I would drop a Fishing Net. But I like the nets for the mirror match and that bros w/o manners Lanni-Kracken matchup.

A few questions (i really liek this deck and want to run it at regionald so I want to understand it really well).

Can you Dupe Seastoenchair or are the multiple copies just to try and get it asap?

Were the Raiding Longships enough that you decided the Kraken's Grasp was not necessary? Was it because of the Kraken's Grasp limitation of 5 strength of lower? Did Ahead of the tide do more work than Kraken's Grasp?

Thanks for the insight!

@Crabshack101About the chair. Both fit. If I think I am going to see location hate (other GJ, Newly-Made Lord I want to dupe it out. It is a fine card to see on setup and it makes your opponents nervous to see it. That card's presence just scares people.

Ahead of the Tide vs The Kraken's Grasp, it is a tossup based on how you feel. Grasp does work. I am never sad to see it. It is a great way of making someone kneel out a defender. It is basically 2 power on a Rise of the Kraken turn. You have so many other ways of getting around big bodies. I kinda want to make ahead work, but you might be right about Grasp getting the slots.

You are most welcome and break a leg. Not your own though.

Interesting so Rise of the Kraken just replaces the normal 1 power from unopposed challenge. So on a successful unopposed power challenge you get 4 power?!

Beknirvana 184

Yes. If you have Balon/Theon that goes up to 5. Rise can easily net 6-7 power the round that it is played.

I was updating your former deck withouth waiting for your ideas and I also decided, that 2 Ahead of the Tide is enough and that Weapons at the Door is totally amazing to strip all those personalities of their precious, ship-action-blocking attachments :) I did not play the mirror matchup, so thanks for this insightful Fishing Net comment. In this slot I decided to include We Do Not Sow in 2 copies. What's your opinion on that?

Beknirvana 184

At the time of the Indy Regional, I did not really look hard at We Do Not Sow because I did not see locations being a big threat. Now though...Tower of the Hand is scary good and will see play. Ghaston Grey can also kill tempo, and We do not sow is a good counter to it. That is a good call. Better than some of my choices...bah, back to the drawing board.

Crabshack101 7

@Beknirvana``@OnetribeIt is def import to not it also hits attachments which also seems like it can be good spot removal for a non-terminal attachment.

Beknirvana 184

We Do Not Sow did not cross my mind at the Indy Regional because I did not think it would need location hate (pure meta call). Now though... Sow helps in the mirror match as you can blow up other ships, and you can bring down Tower of the Hand or Ghaston Grey (never underestimate Martel). Now that you mention it, I probably should be running it too... back to the drawing board!

Have you though about adding in 1-2x of green dreams for attaching during setup or even on asha since she stands quite a bit and rekneels?

Beknirvana 184

@grim This deck is competitive for slots. Green Dreams are nice for card quality, but I kinda need to focus on what will help me win.

That would be a neat thing a fealty that wasn't so reckless rush though.

@BeknirvanaWhat do you think you will remove to put Iron Mines in here. I tried tinkering last night after losing 5 games to Lanni/GJ but it is so tight I could not find anything to take out haha.

Telemelia 21

`@Crabshack101' I think that Iron Mines is inferior to Risen in a GJ-Only deck. In a deck with a banner, I see people wiggling around with the three slots that Risen holds, with two of one and one of the other depending on their style and likelihood of facing Targ Burn. That said, look to see more Banner Kraken just for Iron Mines. (And the Raider, for what it's worth.)

After looking more closely at the pack maybe Nightmare is the card to try to slow in over Fishing Net.

@Crabshack101 After the last two packs, especially Dagmer Cleftjaw have you made any major changes to this? I have used it to pretty good success, only had a few games in a row where I drew nothing I needed and got wrecked. BUT if I see any of the pieces I need I steam roll pretty hard. Weapons at the door has done work too.

PS noob question, how do I reference cards on here? Forgot the coding for it.

Beknirvana 184

card name is how you reference cards.

I took a version of this deck to Waseau and it fell flat on its face. It needs 2X Milk of the Poppy and 2X Seal of the Hand. It also needs Forgotten Plans when that comes out. I don't think Dagmer Cleftjaw has a place here, but I am working on a location control Fealty deck. I'll post it if I can make something of it.
