This was the deck I decided to play a few days before the regional last weekend in Missouri. I'd been keeping up on the various Stark builds people had been running since Kidohearts original Lady Stoneheart went undefeated in Swiss, reading up on the changes that have been made with releases that have happened since then, what others had success with, etc. Even though I hadn't practiced with Stark nearly as much as I had my Lanni/Kraken, I felt this deck gave me my best chance at making at least the top 16, and hopefully the top 8.

There has been a lot discussed about the Regional Top 8, and I don't want to say much about it. I left after prizes were handed out for Top 16 and door prizes because I wanted to get some dinner and relax in my hotel. It was a great tournament regardless of any of the drama, and I don't think any of the illegal decks were made that way on purpose.

So what did I run into?

Game 1 vs Greyjoy Crossing - Win. Turn 1 Milk on Balon was pretty crucial. Turn 2 Milk on him too after he got rid of the first with We Do Not Sow. Septa Mordane with Arya, Sansa and Ned out let me survive a Wildfire with my board intact and pretty much sealed the game as I was able to spread out after.

Game 2 vs Targ/Stag - Loss. I am not sure what Stag stuff he was running, because I only ever saw a Renly that was discarded to intrigue claim (his deck was legal, though). Funniest moment was him putting the crown on Catelyn when I have Winterfell out, then proceeding next turn to flip Blood of the Dragon to finish her off, while I flip confiscation and have to target my own Ward. The game had already snowballed pretty quick from him getting a turn one Dany to go along with his setup that included the stand Dragon.

Game 3 vs. Martell/Lion - Loss. I don't remember a lot of this game. I know that I tried to hold on and get something going but a first snow, along with Nym, Tyrion, Quentyn, and a bouncing things into play Arianne kept me pretty well on lockdown.

Game 4 vs. Stark/Fealty - Win. This was a pretty entertaining mirror. For several turns we both played near identical characters. It was pretty much down to me spreading out more though (this was a theme throughout the day, other than that first game, I never saw a Wildfire).

Game 5 vs. Lannister/Sun - Win. Amazing game, probably the hardest fought on the day (not to take away from any of my opponents). It came down to me with 12 power out (2 on Ned, 1 on Blackfish, 9 on House), when I flipped Wardens. He had been shutting Ned out of military to keep me from using Ice, and that turn stripped out Blackfish icons as well. With Tywin, the Mountain and Nymeria available for Military defense, I attacked with just Robb declared, thinking he would defend with the Mountain and Tywin, which would let me slip Ned and Blackfish in on an intrigue challenge which I knew I could win if he had already used Tywin to defend. My opponent had misunderstood Wardens though, and thought it was once per challenge, so he defended with Mountain and Nym. I put in Blackfish and Ned and hit 15 with the Renown. Very cool opponent and we ended up talking a lot after the match ended.

Game 6 vs Targaryen/Lion - Win. Friend of my round 5 opponent, who I'd talked to between rounds as well. We even had some friendly banter about him getting revenge for the last round, and him knowing what to expect with Wardens. He got a pretty bad initial draw, and not much better on the mulligan. He set up a single Dragon while I gota duped Robb and one other down (Steward I think), along with a location. He made a comment about Marched, and thought I was going to, so he played his thinking he would hit my Duped Robb. Since I wasn't playing it, I just had to discard non important guy while he started the game with an empty board. I got an early Winterfell out which kept me able to keep defending against his Jaime. He put Milk on Robb and Ned, and even got a Milk back on Robb after I confiscated. So it was a long victory without the Renown or Ned's ability to speed things along.

While I am happy with the deck's performance there are a few changes I would make. I would remove Rickon and Shaggy for starters, I never saw anything that Rickon could stop, and never got both out at the same time. I kept wishing I'd put Syrio in the deck, so he would probably be one of my adds, for the other, I think I want Lady for more Sansa love. As for plots, I never really got off two amazing Calling the Banners in a game, so I think I would replace one with A Song of Summer. It gives a decent amount of gold, and there just aren't enough Winter plots to make me wary of not getting the +1 strength.

Thanks for reading my wall of text.
