Rules FAQ

  • If you control Ser Barristan Selmy, Arstan will be sacrificed instantly. This cannot be prevented in any way, apart from blanking Arstan's text box beforehand, or while a card like Summerhall (FtR) is active (but Arstan is still sacrificed immediately after the challenge ends).

  • While you control no Lord or Lady characters, Arstan cannot kneel for any reason. This includes kneeling to participate in a challenge as an attacker or defender, being knelt by a card effect (like Melisandre (Core)), paying the costs of an ability that would require him to kneel (like Hot Pie), or being intimidated.
