Drowned God. Ironborn. Lord. R'hllor.

Reaction: After a phase begins, kneel a character you control. If it has the:

Rules FAQ

  • If the knelt character has both traits, both effects will happen.

  • You can choose to kneel Victarion himself for his ability.

  • You can choose to kneel a character that has neither of the specified traits if you wish (for instance, Alayne Stone or Iron Emmett).

  • If Victarion’s ability is cancelled, the character will not be knelt, as kneeling the character is part of the effect rather than the cost. That also means you do not know which character will be knelt at the point when you have to decide whether to use a cancel or not.

  • The start of each phase only provides one triggering condition for Victarion. You cannot kneel two separate characters to get both effects. However, you can trigger Victarion in as many phases as you like each round, provided you have the characters to do so.

  • Victarion’s ability creates a lasting effect until the end of the phase. Removing the knelt character from play or manipulating its traits will not change that lasting effect in any way. Blanking Victarion’s text box will not work either after the ability has already been triggered.

What does the "immune to opponent's character abilities" actually stop? Is it only triggered abilities or constant abilities too?

Constant too. If you attack with little Theon, Victarion will be able to defend and not have his strength excluded from the challenge. — Powermauler 14
