Rules FAQ

  • The gold cost of the event and the additional cost of giving the opponent 1 gold are paid simultaneously. The gold cost can be reduced by cards like Paxter Redwyne (Core) or Fealty, but the additional cost always requires you to have 1 gold that can be given to the opponent.

  • You can use the 1 gold the opponent gives you to play The Hand's Judgment and cancel Growing Influence.

  • You can react to the costs of Growing Influence with Maester Harmune.

  • Any card that allows you to "spend" gold as if it were in your gold pool (like The Iron Bank) can be used to give an opponent gold as well. (See Spending Gold.)
