Players today are wont to complain there’s too much passive power gain in the greater meta. There’s Mace Tyrell and Bitterbridge, Greyjoy is competing with Baratheon for dominance tech and The Wall endures. People aren’t winning by making and defending challenges, they say.
Should their cries be heard, should the meta return its attention to the challenges phase, this deck will be ready.
I offer to you a deck for a meta that doesn’t exist.
The core of this deck is an emphasis on Martell’s theme of winning by losing. They take their hits and come back harder. The longstanding problem with this was forcing your opponent to come at you. Why bother attacking if it’s only going to hurt you worse? Greyjoy is the solution. Backed up by Sunspear and Ghaston Grey, Fishing Nets effectively become non-terminal Marriage Pacts that can go on Night’s Watch. Asha and Wendamyr’s stealth help break through defenses as well.
It’s fun times seeing a deck that tops at a few five-drops paralyze Tywin, Cersei and Jaime.
Game, set, match.
You’re welcome.
