Fair enough, but in practice, between being able to ambush in Burned Men and being able to put Lannisport Merchants in from the agenda, I almost never had to deal with a devastating military claim, even against a Targ burn deck with Khal Drogo out and making two military challenges. If Maester Aemon is kneeling to save himself, he's also not triggering the Conclave. I still think Maester Lomys is a better choice. |
I played this deck twice against a Targaryen Fealty deck which had a pretty standard Flea Bottom and burn focus. The deck did well and I won both times but I do have one critique.
Maester Aemon serves no purpose here. His ability is completely wasted as it only works on Nights Watch men, and he has no brothers here!
I suggest replacing him with Maester Lomys as his ability has synergy with Cersei Lannister and could net a power on a successful intrigue defense. Lomys has the same cost, icon and is one stronger to boot.
Even if you didn’t want Lomys because this is a more aggressive deck, I’d choose House Maester. He’s one cheaper, same strength and has an extra icon and his and Aemon’s abilities are the same in this case.
Otherwise, great deck and article. I want to see the Conclave more too!
