All the credit to Aaron (pulseglazer) as I only changed 3-4 cards from his list.

25 person tourney @ Trotta’s Hobbies in Barnegat, New Jersey on 12/27.

Beat Targ/Fealty, Lanni/Dragon, GJ/Sun, and Lanni/Rose to go 4-0 swiss. My friend and I both were 4-0 in swiss, but I won top seed because of Strength of Schedule as the Targ/Fealty, GJ/Sun, and Lanni/Rose players all made it the cut. Then beat Lanni/Stag and GJ/Sun (again) to advance to the final, but lost to Bara/Fealty.

Hey man, congrats! Have a couple of questions for you.

1) how effective was the casterly rock/lannisport package while bannering starks? Did it feel right?

2) did you feel seal of the hand was effective enough to run 3? Were they clunky at all as 3 cost unique attachments?

3) how did you like queens assassin in this list?

Thanks and have a good one!

Thanks man! Have a good one too!

  1. I didn’t get them together for any game, but each was very useful independently. Casterly Rock typically either forced my opponent to defend two Int challenges or allowed me to get at least an unopposed challenge out of it. Lannisport helped refill my hand since i am prone to exhausting my hand pretty easily and go through my deck even if it meant discarding for reserve.

  2. 3x Seal of King was crucial for all my wins. Once Tywin is out, I typically defend an Int challenge at the expense for power or mil challenge (when I have a chud to spare) to ensure Seal of the Hand doesn’t get discarded and will be able to play next round. Seal on Tywin was crucial in my GJ match ups when Great Kraken was not in play, and using Tywin twice is more important than you can imagine. He had at least 5-6 power on him by the end of the game from simply using him as a wall for defense. It also protects him from Seastone Chair.

  3. I didn’t get to use his ambush effect this tourney, but I’ve routinely used him in OCTGN and practicing with other people. I like the upside of Queen’s Assassin. Even though I go through my hand quick, I readily replenish it with Counting Coppers, Lannisport, Summons, or Pycelle. Even if I’m low on gold and can’t ambush him, he’s still a cheap 2 drop with Int icon to use as claim soak, an extra int attacker when Casterly Rock is out, or even a useful chump block to defend int, allowing me to use Tyrion, Cersei, Tywin, Jaime, etc for attacking.
