So far I have probably played at least 20 games with this deck and it has been performing extremely well in early testing. I feel like it has an answer to pretty much any deck it goes up against and Bran Stark + Treachery is a big reason for that. This deck can win fast, come from behind, or it can play the long game. Tywin Lannister + Seal of the Hand flat out wins games. Tears of Lys & Put to the Sword offer all the removal you need and I typically can find them when needed. Still have yet to really run into a situation where I was upset that I didn’t have Milk of the Poppy in the deck, as the targeted removal can usually take care of most situations. Varys is a great safety net, although I have only triggered him in a game or two so far. Another thing this deck does a great job of, is being able to win without ever seeing your 6 or 7 costers. Sure, life is much better when you do see them early, but I have won many games without ever dropping down a character above 5 cost.
I know one criticism people will immediately have is that there are only 2x Treachery in the deck, but I have been finding 2 copies to be sufficient. However, still may cut something to find room for a 3rd copy. Probably will cut a single copy of The Queen’s Assassin for it.
Also still need to try swapping Cersei’s Wheelhouse for Casterly Rock to see which I like better. So far the draw off of Wheelhouse has been working quite well, but can see the benefit to additional an intrigue challenge in assisting with getting Tears off.
Plots are pretty standard. So far I have found A Game of Thrones to be crushing mid-game against most decks and really bring my opponents game to a screeching halt for a turn while I can either catch up, or pull within a few power of closing out the game and then I can just drop Sneak Attack next turn and take it down. As I mentioned above about the ability to win games without seeing your 6 or 7 costers, I have been tempted to drop Summons for The Winds of Winter which I feel would be an absolute crushing play mid to late game and this deck has the economy to support it.
Please let me know your thoughts and opinions, criticisms & critiques are welcome!

As for setup, its never really an issue. There is plenty of low cost, very effective characters that you can setup with. I really like to see a big cost character in hand like Tywin or Jamie along with some 2 & 3 cost characters and of course hopefully an econ location (both The Hound & Sansa Stark are great 3 cost characters I like in setup). From there I’ll setup the 8 gold worth of the cheaper characters & chuds and then marshal the big hitter turn one. I also like setting up a Tyrion and 1 or 2 chuds followed by some military backup turn 1. While I am definitely not opposed to adding a few copies of Winterfell Steward and actually have tried to fit them into the deck, I just cant find something I am comfortable cutting in order to make room for them. Thanks again for your insight and questions and let me know if you have any more! |
I have been loving this deck, traded out sneak attack for a filthy accusations as I like my extra challenges. I also removed wheelhouse and put another treachery and took out a assassin. Won 7 games in a row including a Greyjoy Fealty deck and a Baratheon fealty. I did finally lose against a Targ fealty, but hey a pretty good track record so far! I will be playing in a store tourney tomorrow with this so wish me luck and thank you for this great list! |
Best of luck at the tourney today and I really look forward to hearing your tourney report on how the deck performs! Cheers! |

Awesome list. Love it. What are your feelings on the Queen’s Assassin? He seems like another in-challenge money drain and his ability hardly seems worth it. At least, that’s what it feels like when I look at the list. Would you consider cutting them and adding the 3rd Treachery to take the deck down to 60 cards?
Secondly, I have done some setup samples. Seems like there’s a lot of cards you do not want in setup, and there’s also a bunch of characters that don’t combine in setup. What’s your setup strategy? Would you ever consider adding Winterfell Steward to improve setups?
Thanks
