I made this deck because Lanni has all the cool toys and my love of Stark. The combination works well because you can actually have 2 different 7-cost characters in the deck, lots of control, very effective characters, and the gold required to play it all.
A few adjustments through play testing made a huge difference. Taking out A Game of Thrones for Calm Over Westeros while substituting Syrio Forel, The Tickler, The Queen's Assassin, and a second Rattleshirt's Raiders for under-performing cards proved to be the right choice.
On the day I went 5-0. With 4 rounds of swiss and a cut to the top 2, in a field of 10. I'll be talking about how things went in more detail in episode 3 of Taming Dragons.
My matches were:
1) Targ/Sun (My duped Tyrion got crowned turn 1, meaning a comeback was required)
2) Tyrell NA (Mark got to 12 power over my 3. I brought it back to win 15-3.)
3) Stark Fealty (Tim's Direwolves + Kennel Masters = shenanigans abound)
4) Lanni/Sun (Syrio + Jaime = MVP vs Salty)
5) Tyrell NA (Rematch. Turn 1 PttS on Varys into turn 2 Marching of a Bodyguarded Randy meant Mark couldn't come back)
I want to thank Tim for running the tournament, Comic Hunter for hosting us, and all the participants. Especially the Saint John crew who made the trip!
Great job with the deck Kyle
