I updated my list that I used two weeks ago at my Regionals (Top 4, 34 players) Except of some minor changes, I added 3 x Drowned God's Blessing.
Aeron Damphair didn't made the cut this time. I love to have him as a threat. But it is quite obvious for my opponents that I will not win dominance and after Iron Mines I feel quite safe having Mines, Risen und dupes. I added a second Syrio Forel because he always helped me, when I saw him. He just works so good with GJ stealth. Together with Longships you can control a big board. If you have problems, just go second and use Wildfire.
I also removed one Great Kraken and added another Reader who is quite awesome. I don't really need stealth on Balon. Balon with Crossing or Iron Fleet Scout or Drowned God's Blessing is enough to get uo in almost every situation (except of Robert with Stanis out or Tywin with a Syrio or so).
If you don't see ur big chars (Balon, Euron, Theon, Asha) you usually have some Drowned Men and Priest of the Drowned God and enough Warships to boost ur Drowned Man up to 7+ STR. They can do alot for you.
I still have 1 x Lordsport Shipwright to kneel Kingsroads etc. and 1 x Newly-Made Lord to eventually discard a Kingsroad for Euron.
Seal of the Hand was meant to help against Bara (worst match up ever) but it turned out to be awesome on your big (stealth) guys!
Confiscationand Counting Coppers are two important cards that can bring you back if you are in trouble. Wildfire Assault is situational, either you want to reset, or if you have enough stealth, to put you into a good position for a Rise of the Kraken. Rise of the Kraken needs a good timing and can give you rather easily up to 8 power.
You usually lose uo challenges yourself, if you haven't enough stealth or Raiding Longships out, don't hesitate to go second... it is situational, but it eventually gives you more uo than if you always go first.
Looking forward to suggestions and critics to improve this list.

Like Rihanna said you need to "work work work work" on this. |
Thank you for analysing this deck so deeply! I agree with almost everything. I will follow up with some comments: 4 and 5: I kinda agree with both points. I was always very happy with The Reader when I got him and on the other hand Great Kraken often times turned out to be another high cost location while I was waiting to draw a character (preferably with icon). So I wanted to test it this way. But you are completely right with the power grab, etc. so after some playtesting I might change back to 1 Reader and 2 Great Kraken.
Bara: With Seal of the Hand + Milk of the Poppy it actually works quite fine for me to play as I would do it against any other house if he hasn't Stannis Baratheon AND Melisandre out. If he gets both of them on the table (in the early game) things start to get complicated... actually I don't have a good strategy against it... Last time I played against Bara he had Robert, Stannis and Melisandre out but Seal and Milk helped me and it was very close. Eventually he won with denying my challenge on my Rise of the Kraken turn with In the Name of Your King!. I didn't play much during the last week because of holidays and Imperial Assault Regionals, but I should get some playtesting on Thursday (also against a good Bara kneeling deck!) |
I'm really loving the Greyjoys. They were my first love when the game came out and they're starting to be more deadly as packs come out.
With my version of this deck (sans True Steel cards), here are a couple things:
That being said, great great Greyjoy build. My average wins are on turn 3. Never with 2. Sometimes on 4. Never going beyond 5.
Question: How do you play against a Bara kneeling deck?
