This was the deck I played yesterday to win the weekly tournament we play in Madrid. There were 11 players, to a total of 4 rounds, and I went 4-0, playing vs Lannister/Greyjoy, Stark Fealty, Greyjoy/Martell and Lannister Fealty.
The deck is basically the latest iteration of the deck I've been playing since 2.0 came out. However, I haven't been really confident and comfortable playing Stark until Wolves of the North came out. As a very loyal Stark player myself (been playing exclusively Starks in tournaments for almost 3 years now...) I find the latest cards published to give the Stark house a very solid, thematic and most of all, fun way of being played.
As for the deck itself, it's basically an aggro/power rush deck. Depending on the game, it can wipe your opponent's board, or it can rush to the win with its many ways of claiming power. It's still under construction, so any advice is more than welcome.
MVPs of the tournament were:
*Winterfell all day (added the 3rd copy the morning before the tournament and I think I'm not getting back to 2) This card is absolutely solid. Only thing I would love is to have more suitable winter plots for the deck, so I can get more use of it.
*Sneak Attack during my 1st and 3rd games. On the 1st, it helped clearing my opponent's board, along with Ice played on Catelyn, Syrio and Winter is Coming. On the 3rd, it was basically a last turn of both players being close to the win, but the one who flips the highest initiative wins. I love how this plot can be a game changer in the right situation: it can clear your opponent's board if combined with the right tools (claim rising, Ice, Ward, Marched to the wall next turn) or it can make a last push for a power win, combined with all the renown in the deck.
*Jory Cassell on the 4th game, which prevented my important characters from dying to multiple killing effects from my Lannister opponent.
Ward is also a nice addition to the deck. Its performance varies a lot, though. In some games it would sit in my hand for ages, waiting for a proper target to spend 4 gold on it, but in some other games it shined. I.e. taking control of my opponent's Cersei at the start of the 1st round. It needs to be combined with Marched to the Wall, though: the chances of having your opponent Confiscate it the next round and always really high.
Any question or suggestion always welcome, thanks for reading!
Hi Manuel, I just missed your result. Congrats! Just a pair of question: what about trading? Is it worth the plot slot? Would you keep Sneak Attack in this deck?
