A way to play Nightswatch in a competetive environment.... Hard call, but nevertheless a good opportunity to get to know with the Nightwatch cards.

First of all: We play a defensive Watch, so no Jon, no Lord of the Crossing or other fancy aggressive things. We defend THE WALL! So the first step is to increase the chances of this card draw. That means: 60 cards and (at least) 1 Building Orders.

I really want to play the Old Bear, so Fealty is the name of the game (that also means that we are poor as a Fishmonger). The other characters are quite simple. 3 Aemons, 3 Ranging Parties and 3 Benjens. The rest is personal favor. I would prefer 2 Rattleshirts Raiders, but the 60 card limit is a big issue. Littlefinger for economy and Syrio for some stealth action (You could argue that you don't need him, because there are Benjen (for stealth) and Alliser (for Mil Icons), but still... Better save than sorry!

In the Attachment segment we see a lot of practice blades, Longclaw, Milk and the Raven. The only surprise is 1 Little Bird, but you really really want to keep Benjen and Alliser alive. Esp. against Martells (Hello Tyene), an intrigue icon is the name of the game.

The Location area is quite simple. Normally I want to include an Iron Throne, but it has to go for other things... :(

Events: The only suprise is "A Meager Contribution" but in several Set-ups i didn't have the money to prepare a Wall + X. (You need at least 5 gold to play the Wall and have some options, with only 4 gold you are very (!) limited.

Plots: Building Orders and Here to serve is a no-brainer. You need / want your key cards on the table as soon as possible. Calm over Westeros is a good opener. 5 Gold (the magic edge) and a good way to dodge naval... Calling the Banners is a good way to come back when you are behind. I really dont like Trading, because you don't want to give your opponent an advantage (esp. when you are behind). Confiscation is there due to the fact that there are 3 perfect Milk targets in your Deck - Mormont, Benjen and (kind of) Allisar. You have to keep your defense up, so you have to protect your card texts... This is also the reason why there is no fortified position. As a economy plot, we have Fallen From Favor. You have enough Ravens or Stewards to afford this sacrifice (but keep naval in mind!) Last we have Forgotten Plans, the new counter to First Snow. First Snow was one of the main reasons why NW felt behind so quick. I can still counter other plots, but First Snow is the most notable.

Please let me know your feedback!!

Cheers!

My Initial though You have way to many So here are some findings I would like to point:

*The Watchers on the wall - In the idea you are trying to accomplish The Sword in the Darkness is way stronger. I would recommend 1 Watchers - 3 Swords

*Longclaw - doesn't work in the deck. I found my self a lot of time holding it and wanting it to be Practice sword to ambush. SO I would replace it for 3rd Practice.

*Fortified & For the Watch - I believe are key for the current meta. There are a lot of effects that we don't want to see Ever.

*Littlefinger - is to expensive for the deck. He is good in general and even more with Old Bear's Raven but I really find money for it.

*Nightmares - I would like to sea one

*Rattleshirt's Raiders - After the weekend where I played similar deck I would run 2x.

*Naval - It is real silver bullet with good initiative so I would recommend trying it out and playing NW with Lower Econ - Higher Initiative.
