I used this list in our late SC today and ended up 5-1, only losing to Stark Fealty in the Finals, when the deck completely crapped out on me. The deck won against Lanni/Kraken, Lanni/Fealty, Martell/Lion, Stark/Fealty (same as in final) and Targ/Lion

I know the list itself is not special at all, but I thought I'd still share in case somebody is interested in the subtleties of how people play Lanni/Kraken.

So, some remarks:

The mix of Treachery, The Hand's Judgment and Nightmares worked very nicely for me.

I cannot judge Maester's Chain yet, as I either did not draw it or did not need it.

I liked the second copy of Counting Coppers very much. If I had to take out a plot, I would rather think about Trading with the Pentoshi, which I really only played as a last resort.

Congrats, Dominic!

Any particular reason to run Wardens of the West over A Song of Summer? ;-)

If for some reason decks with more than 60 cards would become illegal for tournament play, which card would you cut?

Did you ever miss the third Treachery? This is one of the Lannister cards I don't see myself playing fewer than 3 of anytime soon.

Was the single Seal of the Hand worth it? Maester's Chain's asside, this seems to be your only legit target for an opponent's Confiscation.

If you were to cut the Maester's Chain and (say) up the Rattleshirt's Raiders to three - what number would Grand Maester Pycelle go down to? For me he feels like the classic one of, unless you need more Chain bearers, especially when you run Counting Coppers twice.

Finally: How did the Newly-Made Lord's work for you? For me they have been somewhat underwhelming (at least compared to the monsters they were in V1) and I'd probably turn at least one of them into a Lordsport Shipwright.

Thanks, Robert!

The 61st card I added to the deck was the second copy of Rattleshirt's Raiders. If I would have to cut one, I would most probably go the route you mention of cutting both Maester's Chain and up Rattleshirt's Raiders to 3.

I would still stick to 3 copies of Grand Maester Pycelle in that case though. He is a most welcome source of draw and the 3 copies make it quite likely to have a dupe to make him survive The First Snow of Winter. I do not think the two copies of Counting Coppers make other draw sources obsolete.

You are somewhat right about Seal of the Hand. It definitely won me a game during the tournament, although it was hit by Confiscation next round. Not sure about the solution here, need to think more about it.

My Newly-Made Lords did nothing during the tournament. However, in 6 games, I had exactly one opponent who played a non-economy location. I kept the lord in hand, but I won before he has his appearance. I would still keep them for two reasons:

  • I consider them necessary to disrupt dominance tech decks.
  • I am very found of my 4 costers as my general playstyle with the deck is very much focussed around The First Snow of Winter.

I forgot to answer about Treachery:

In the end effect, Nightmares and Treachery are very similar with the following differences:

A 2-2 split between these seemed right to me. Playing more than 4 of them would only be possible by cutting characters and I will not do that for sure.
