Since my Dothraki deck is practically completed until I get my hands on the 2nd chapter pack, I'm looking into few interesting alternatives.
While avoiding the regular NW Fealty choke that people want to do, or the other more obvious choice Banner of the Kraken, I recalled the Lannister have a bunch of effects that can improve the choke.
First I was thinking that an all-out offence deck is the way to go, but as I was building this, I found out that you have a very decent chance of defending The Wall successfully with all the Ambushes and controlling opponent's side of the board.
Speaking of Control, you have bounce effects, cancels, moving gold.
I'm a bit unsure on the plot deck, do I want a 2nd Famine or a For the Watch!... I decided to give Ranger's Cache as while choking the enemy (and yourself) a 5g Naval or Famine turn seems quite nice with alternative to grab 2 additional cards if you need to refresh.
Confiscation is another plot that might go, but Tyrion Lannister is pretty cool to give you that Ambush and event gold, and I wouldn't want him to get milked.
Overall, I think I'm onto something. The playstyle will depend on game by game basis. Sometimes defending the wall might work out, in others smashing and controlling his board.
NW/Lanni choke, don't forget you read it here first! ;)
Cheers, Dydra

As I make 10 or so games with this, will see how exactly it turns out ... |
Good point, will probably lower down to 1 or remove, unless I decide to pitch in something else |
Not really not... I built a deck like that like 2 months ago already and i'm sure other players did as well. I think the offensive approach is the right way to deal with it : as long as you are playing famine, it can't be much different |

Most of the cards were already spoiled. Besides, you could still build somthing interesting without them. So ok, they were maybe not legal at that time with the given cardpool you are using, but you could still build something approaching anyways, in a différent shape of course. My decks were maybe not posted here on thrones db ... but they were posted elsewhere (on the french forum letronedeferjce.forumactif.com ). This was still a work in progress thread at the time (not saying it was good) but still you get the idea ... And i 'm sure we are not the only ones to have think of a NW / Lion choke deck. i tried the defensive way at first (like you) with the wall and then tried something more aggressive. My preference goes now to the latter (though i didn't posted it, as i consider it not to be stable enough) From my little experience from 1.0 (for what it's worth), Choke has to be very aggressive towards the opponents board. That may includes claim, double marched and things to clear the board on a semi regular basis at least. I am not saying this is the best approach, but still I am not playing "the things" i do because it's far too restrictive imo with only tyrion in the deck nor do i play levies at the rock right now |

in Fracas, after 6 rounds of Swiss the #1 deck ( and one of the two undefeated) is a NW/Lion ... can't wait to see the list after tourney :) |
The Things I Do For Love seams pretty weak in this deck considering u need to have your Tyrion Lannister to play it with. That's like less then 3% chance of happening...
