So I drove down to Atlanta from Knoxville for the Battle of Summerhall and took my favorite faction with me (it didn't hurt that they've proven such a powerful choice in the overall meta). I ended up going 5-0 in the swiss, beating Greyjoy/Lion, NW Fealty, Tyrell Stag, Bara Lion, and Stark Fealty. A common theme in many of my wins seemed to be that I started from behind in terms of power and slowly built my board up to overtake my opponents.
That did not prove to be the case in my top 8 game against Lannister/NW. I underestimated how quickly that deck would gain power and I could not find the answers to stop him.
The MVPs of the day were First Snow of Winter, the Sansa Stark + Lady combo, and of course, Winterfell.
If I could make any changes, I would likely add a Summons to help in the situations where I was having trouble finding impactful characters. The only dilemma I have is that I am unsure of what to take out of the plot deck to fit it in.
My last three games were recorded, including my loss to Lanni/NW and my wins against Stark Fealty and Bara Lion. I will update this post when the videos are published.
Overall, I had an awesome time at the tournament and hope to make it back down next year! Thanks to all the folks in Atlanta for the good times and all the great prizes.
