Gilvoth 3
I got the idea for this deck while going through cards and debating if there was any use at all for Loot. Ideally, get some unopposed for Loot to trigger and have Crone of Vaes Dothrak to be able to send characters to the dead pile. She can trigger on The Reader's mill effect also. Throw in a copy of King of Salt and Rock for some extra power gain when pillage doesn't hit a character and it's not a bad combo.
I've been testing and modifying the deck a bit. I was playing with Euron Crow's Eye but economy is hard on the deck and it was rarely possible to have him hit the board even with Trading with the Pentoshi. Other plots I tried were Time of Plenty and Winter Festival. Winter Festival power can be a nice boost but I decided to swap for Fallen from Favor for extra income. It's also nice to have that one as the deck is heavy on locations and I may have a location-only setup or post Valar Morghulis. I haven't tested after swapping in Valar in place of Time of Plenty but I've noticed a trend of players allowing a challenge to go unopposed when claim is 0 so that may make it easier to have a pillage/loot go off.
So far, the pre-valar version was working surprisingly well against most houses. The only house I haven't played against so far with this is Baratheon. It's extra satisfying playing Loot after Tyrion Lannister (Core) gains gold for an intrigue challenge. I've been thinking about swapping the house cards and going targ/kraken for more Dothraki. I'd lose Balon and The Reader but gain Jhogo and Khal Drogo. I'm not sure there would be a ton of play difference in the deck by doing that, though.
Thoughts/suggestions? I'd like to hear them.
