I took this deck to the finals at the Dice Age Store Championship on 1/14/17 (http://thejoustingpavilion.com/tournaments/2704) I went 3-1 in swiss and lost to Nights Watch Winter in the finals. Congrats to Alex who took a pretty awesome Night's Watch aggro deck for the win.
This is a pretty standard Kraken Banner suite with three Victarion, three Iron Mines and some other random stuff. I took the Raiders from Pyke for the potential to Ambush in Ice and to try and claim the bounty from ThoneRunner. Otherwise it's a pretty solid Stark base, Harrenal is amazing, keeping the opponent thinking twice about playing their big characters letting you get control of the board.
Round 1 vs Justin K, Lannister Banner of the Kracken
Justin set up Tywin, reducer, and gold, good start to the day. Round one he dropped Tyrion, another reducer, and Gregor. Survived the round and Valared the board, after that I had it pretty well in hand with only little Cerci giving me issues.
Round 2 vs Robert B, Martell Banner of the Stag
Robert was piloting a deck that has been making rounds around the area recently, with passive power gain through dominance and the Boneway. It is a brutal deck to play against and I could never get a board presence long enough to curtail.
Round 3 vs David S, NIght's Watch Fealty
David is a newer player in our area and is already a really tough player to play against. Even though he had two Haunted Forests and the Wall I was able to keep his board small and get the Wall down.
Round 4 vs Matt E, Barathon Banner of the Kraken
Matt is our resident Bara player, he has been playing Bara/Kraken for awhile now and it is a brutal matchup. He built up a big board with Mel and Asha plus plenty of claim soak and Iron Mines. I was able to get through enough to make the Valar hurt and still have a significant board afterwards. He was at 12 power and I was able to take control of the board to make the comeback.
Top 4 vs Robert B, Martell Banner of the Stag
REMATCH!!!!!! This time I was able to see something I didn't the first round, economy and Harrenhal. I was able to keep a board presence (amazing how that saves a game) Robert had me dead to rights, But I was able to hold him off one round and get Ned on the board for the win.
Finals vs Alex B, Night's Watch Kings of Winter
Alex had a choke on early, dropped a bunch of characters and controlled the board with two claim plots. He played it perfectly and didn't even give a chance to put anything together.
Tell me you got a chance to ambush Ice with Raiders of Pyke!?! Jank
