I had not played against or played with a "reset" Martell deck (which also won our Regional championship). I researched some deck lists and based my build fairly heavily on one in "No-Funny-Stuff-ep7-martel fealty-1.0"
Everyone in the field knew I was running a Martell Reset deck, so no surprises to be had.
Round 1 - Bye!! - I drank coffee and took the opportunity to flick through the deck again - WIN!!
Round 2 - Targ/Rains - WIN - My opponent could not quite get back into the game after two board resets.
Round 3 - Stark Fealty - WIN - My opponent here played a very careful game of managing his resources, despite two board resets he was still in it to the very end. I won on time.
Round 4 - Tyrell/Rains - WIN - My opponents econ fell on it's face, I had Ghaston Grey on set-up. Despite some good game play on his part, his deck didn't give him much love on the economy front.
I would mulligan if I didn't see economy on set-up, regardless of what else I had in hand. I'm not quite sure where I read that trick for this deck but it worked out for me each game. Despite the inclusion of Pyromancers (location control) and Maester of Sunspear/Orphan of Greenblood to remove annoying attachments on key characters (Arianne/Varys and maybe Nymeria) I saw nothing of these all day. I'd still keep them through.
