This is a deck I had spent nearly a year preparing for this year's Stahleck tournament, but regrettably, due to certain circumstances, I am unable to attend the tournament this year. Considering that this deck will likely fade into history, I have decided to share it directly and show some of its details to everyone.
- The core of the deck revolves around the combination of Bowels of Casterly Rock and Tunnels of the Red Keep—a classic shadow deck synergy that requires little introduction.
- The final Lannister card must be Gold Mine over The Red Keep. Gold Mine serves as one of the core engines for our deck's development—it functions both as an economic asset and synergizes with Edric Dayne. With 1 gold income plus 2 gold saved on shadow placement, Edric Dayne + Gold Mine = The Arbor (plus).
- Among all the characters, Old Bill Bone is the only one costing 2 gold, while every other character requires 3 gold or more. This cost structure ensures Bolton Flayer can be consistently triggered to kill characters controlled by opponents.
- Harwin only requires a character with at least two keywords to trigger its ability, include Roose Bolton, Ser Jorah Mormont, Shrewd Diplomat, The Knight of Flowers, The Tattered Prince, and even Harwin himself.
- Due to the restrictions imposed by our agenda, we have lost access to The Red Keep and Alchemists' Guildhall. To compensate for this, we have included Begging Brother and Maester Murenmure in our deck to disrupt opponents' actions.
- Dornish Sloop, as a shadow card with 0 cost, can activate Bowels of Casterly Rock during any phase to either draw card or gain gold. It serves as a crucial countermeasure against Supporting the Faith.
- Qartheen Galleas and Ibbenese Whaler form an exceptionally powerful combo. In earlier versions of my deck, I included King's Landing and City Gates to supplement economy and card draw. However, the steep cost of King's Landing made the deck struggle significantly in the early game. For a shadow deck, Ibbenese Whaler serves as both an economic asset and a source of card draw. With the support of Qartheen Galleas, triggering Ibbenese Whaler's card draw effect becomes remarkably easy. Its cost of 2 gold also enables more flexible setup.
- Iron Mines to counter GHE
- Close Call can also trigger Edric Dayne's ability.
- Burning the Books can use the power on The Tattered Prince before back to shadows
