After having done a decent amount of games with my Sun Dragon deck, I started feeling out what’s the only problem that Targ has - draw. Although, having a 2nd Counting Coppers in my deck seems like a really legit idea, I started pondering on the only faction that has some draw control - Tyrell.

I was recently making the argument in reddit( and I totally stand behind it), that “The Bear and the Maiden Fair” is the best card in the core set. Although it doesn’t actually draw you a card, it can setup you for 2 turns and a half, sort out enemy cards and it will always be useful and good. What in my opinion is also very good about it - it doesn’t waste your plot space for things like Summons and Building Orders.

So here is where it all started - The Bear Song, so you draw your Dragons, Dracarys!, Danny and filter enemy cancels and problematic cards. Obviously you would add 3 Margaery Tyrell, but what to fill the rest 6 slots with? Having my full-on scale Danny and Drogo would make it really cost inefficient to play Randyl and TkoF. Also Olenna’s Informant is nice, but 4 gold into challenges + 1g for Dracarys! + 1g for possible Cancel …. that’s definitely not a 3x.

What I did is that I changed the plan a bit. I went a lot lower on the economy scale and on Danny, so we have 3x Khal Drogo and 3x Randyll Tarly. Thus, introducing the Flower Dragons

The deck is catered to utilize on maximum the Kill and Power potential of the Khal and Randy.

Fields of testing and improvement

• Events- The 3x The Hand’s Judgment might be a bit of an overkill, but I feel 2 is the minimum. Depending on how the deck plays out I might swing a bit up for Fire and Blood or Waking the Dragon.

• Locations - Maybe -1 on Plaza of Punishment, but considering there aren’t many better locations to invest in and not running Support of the People , makes a 1x The Iron Throne a bad idea.

• Attachments - We want to make the most of Randy, so 2x Heartsbane feels good. 1x Seal for more standing and 2 Milks to have.

• Characters - Things I’d consider are eventually 1-2 x Olenna’s Informant so we really trash druing the The Winds of Winter.

• Plots - Maybe Marched to the Wall on the place of Rebuilding or 2nd The Winds of Winter.

I’ve been sim drawing like crazy and I get amazing setups and follow-ups. Will test on OCTGN and f2f as soon as I can.
