This is a Night's Watch deck I built primarily to combat murder decks. The win condition for this deck is Old Bear Mormont plus The Wall to defend, gain power, and put characters into play from the hand, essentially, only occasionally winning challenges as the attacking player (e.g., with Jon Snow and Ghost).
A key defensive event is The Watcher on the Walls. Due to the low gold cost but high additional of kneeling two rangers (who could likely otherwise be defending in the military challenge, unless bypassed by stealth), the card is easily canceled by the opponent's The Hand's Judgment. As a partial solution to this, the deck runs the plot Supporting the Faith and 3x Old Forest Hunter. Playing StF removes the opponent's gold at the beginning of the challenges phase, then using OFH during the challenge phase to gain 1 gold allows the play of TWotW without having to worry about THJ. Also OFH is himself a ranger so he could kneel to fulfill the cost of TWotW.
Since OBM is clearly a VIP in this deck, this deck contains Confiscation and 2x Rattleshirt's Raiders to deal with any Milk of the Poppy play (or other nastiness) by the opponent. Against Baratheon, Seal of the Hand will counteract Melisandre's abilty.

Good observation. The more, sneakier ways to play it, the better. I really like Supporting the Faith here, not only for Watcher on the Walls but for defense in general. It feels good to know that the other player will have no gold going into challenges. If there was a plot I would consider swapping into the deck, it would be Summons for OBM consistency, but I don't know which plot I would replace with it. |
Was going to mention it is loyal also. I baited several times by not having any gold so they attacked. Kneel fealty and two rangers......sorry but not sorry lol. |

Nice deck!! Have you been able to play The Watcher on the Walls much, since you don't have many Rangers in your deck? |
@ironlix Honestly, no, I haven't, although I currently have 10 ranger cards which I think should be enough to trigger it. I haven't tested it enough yet, but I would consider going down to 2x Jon Snow to get another ranger if I needed to. Also 3x Messenger Raven feels good. |
Watcher on the Walls is also loyal, so you can make it cheaper with Fealty.
