A Lannister Dragon aggro/goodstuff deck that won the last Store Championships for Neutral Grounds Eton Centris in Manila, Philippines. The deck went 6-1 during the day.

Round 1: Bye

Round 2: Night's Watch Banner Sun - Win

Round 3: Baratheon Fealty - Loss

Round 4: Baratheon Fealty - Win

Cut:

Top 8: Tyrell Crossing - Win

Top 4: Bara Fealty - Win

Top 2: Bara Fealty - Win

The deck has many ways to enable Mirri Maz Duur (The Hound, Ser Jorah Mormont, Widow's Wail), while opening up opportunities for Put to the Sword and Tears of Lys./. So either way, you will pull off a removal trigger / event almost every turn.

The list, specially the Syrio/Wildling Scouts were adopted from Ruben Barnhoon and Ryan Jones' lists.

Post tournament: I think I overvalued Jorah. I would drop one for another copy of Ilyrio. The Wildling Scouts never got triggered during the games, so I'm still undecided on those. Ser Ilyn never saw play, too. The Queen's Assassin is really good, and I encourage Lanni players to try the card more often. It's Burned Men #4-5 in a deck that wants to pare down the board via First Snow into Marched.

Treachery and Illyrio were MVPs of the day. I would never build a Lanni Dragon deck without three copies of each.

good deck and you did well with it, congrats! it looks like the big change from previous versions is to cut the x2 bodyguard - did that work out well or would you add them back? any other changes you would suggest?

Congratulations on the win!

I am wondering... Did you have any trouble paying for all those expensive characters? How did you pull it off?

@YEEZUSI never play Bodyguard with Lannister, because I think if you play smart enough, you can play around removal. I'm known in our meta as a very defensive player if that helps (I usually defend with Tywin instead of putting offense). With that said, I didn't face high-removal decks during the day, so Tywin was never in danger.

And for the matchups which I think Lanni Dragon has trouble with (Targ Lion's Dracarys, Gregor Pillage), I think that Hand's Judgment and Treachery are more flexible answers. Thanks!

@mattastrophic If you get Tywin out early, economy will not be a problem. However, if you don't get Tywin out, or you never see him, prepare to plan ahead with how you marshall your characters. Maybe hold off on Mil challenges for a turn so you can Calling the Banners for big money, or save your Kingsroad so you can get Mirri out on a Calm Over Westeros Turn.

Also, I think it's key to know which characters are better versus certain matchups, so you don't marshall characters blindly. Ilyn Payne is good vs Martell, but will probably suck vs the Lannister mirror, while Jaime provides good pressure vs mirrors.

Hmm... So, in a different House, would you recommend a similar character cost curve for this metagame? How dependent is that cost curve on Tywin?

I'm only seeing 5-1 @kennish :p

@Ryan Jones :P A win is a win is a win

@mattastrophic: The metagame is in a place right now where only big dudes matter, so i think that other decks also run a similar curve -- Lanni just does it a little better. My version didn't have Trading, but other decks need Trading.
