Deck was created, tested and tuned by my deckmaking company Breaker&Cyd. I change maybe 2-3 cards and pilot it through Stahleck.

I don't think that killing Lanni build number 1000 and it's games is interesting so only quick look at games:

Round 1 - Superbye, 1:0 Round 2 - Martell/Kraken, 2:0 Round 3 - GreyJoy Winter, 3:0 Round 4 - Stark Fealty, 4:0 Round 5 - Targaryan Fealty, 5:0 Round 6 - Baratheon Summer, 5:1 Round 7 - Baratheon Summer, 5:2

1:32 - Lannister Winter, Win 1:16 - Baratheon Summer, Win 1:8 - Baratheon Summer, Win Semi-Final - Stark Fealty, Lose

If still got any question feel free to ask, I will answer gladly.

Congrats on the result!

While as you said, lanni fealty isn't a surprise your list has some interesting choices: was the 3x Cersei's Wheelhouse your way to draw card without playing coppers? And was Golden Tooth an helpful card?

You also played without milks nor nightmares, I'm curiuos to learn the thought process behind this choice!

@Astinus

Thanks :)

Counting Coppers is a card that neither me nor the deckbuilders like. 2 Gold and 3 Ini is just to little, we prefer stable draw. Personally I was suprised also by Cersei's Wheelhouse in the list. But playing some tests proves that it was right choice. First of all it's either setup friendly or really cheap or even free looking it's a fealty deck. Lannister doesn't have much loyal choices so it's not unusual to use fealty for it. You play with high Initiative plots (besides 2 claim The Long Winter) so the minus to Initiative is no problem. Even if You sometimes lose Initiative the problem is on Your opponent side. Not many decks like to go first, if they don't You get a card (or from time to time gold). If You go second and don't benefit form Wheelhouse it's still good. It's truly a win-win situation. The only real problem through Stahleck was sometimes make good decision - go first with card or gold or stay second without anything.

Golden Tooth is just fine as a 10th economy card. In original list there were 2 with one less The Kingsroad to provide some tricks f.e. with getting cash in taxation to have Treachery ready but I don't feel it works often so stayed with one in deck.

No Milk of the Poppy/Nightmares was a strange but right choice. There was situation in tournament that I regret not having them but most of times I was totally happy to draw some killing instead. And there is the main reason - You kill them, not slow them down, not control them, just kill them. So You don't have spare place for such choices. Extra bonus was that You are not hurt with opposing Confiscation playing Varys's Riddle.

Nice perfomance! How useful was 2x Varys Riddle? Do you think Lannister lists like this one will still be available with valar?

TrueSokles 47

@iaan

Thanks :)

Varys's Riddle was fine - cash, initiative and reserve is at good level. And I don't remember really bad hit with it. I didn't hit any Summer Harvest to be totally satisfied but Summons, Counting Coppers, few times Calm Over Westeros. Nothing to complain about :)

If yes it needs lots of work in Valar-meta, I will propably try something else.

Congrats on the finish! The list really have surprise choices. What why no a single copy or Ser Armory Loch? it perfectly fits in a deck that wants small board on oponents side. Also, suprised not to see the 3rd copy of Trial by combat in a deck like that. Can you explain why? I am very interested in the main thinking behind a decklist like it! :-)

TrueSokles 47

@xikitins

Thanks :)

Well originally I didn't want Ser Amory Lorch not to get Tears of Lys on him as on of the easiest targets. But it was a mistake he should go in instead of one Ser Gregor's Marauders. I was missing power icons a lot. And was never even closed to beibg Tearsed ;)

Well originally it was 2 and third one is not needed - cash to play, Cersei Lannister (Core) or The Long Winter to do the job. You have to first build Your board than kill all opp :) 3 would be to much.

I've tried this deck and I have to say I consider it the strongest pre-valar deck.

The amount of pressure it puts on your opponent is insane and the high income plots make it less reliant on economy.

Great deck!

xikitins 53

Have you tried this deck in valar meta? is still good? which plot do you switch for valar?

TrueSokles 47

@xikitins I'm still in after-Stahleck card vacation mode, so i didn't touch cards after Bacharach. Personally I will try another decks in Valar meta, I don't feel this one being good now.
