First of all, I'm a huge fan of mill in card games. And from the times of AGoT 2.0 coreset i was dreaming about this kind of deck. Tried about 5 games with that stuff, and I should warn you, that mill deck is still a desire, because: 1. its performing "out of cards" victory condition a bit slow 2. You will take 15 power before opponent will lose all his cards (Personal record - 3 cards left in the opponent's deck). Pillage deck is absolutely fun (=not for tournament purposes), so maybe Im tired of serious games and finally found something, that i missed so much for several month.
Some advices for my deck:
- King of Salt and Rock and Little Bird are perfect targets for Asha Greyjoy (3-cards combo, yeah =D)
- Noble Lineage was added for Ser Gregor's Marauders, but these guys showed themself not so efficient, like I supposed they are. But its still good card for setup (0cost) and against martell icon removal attachments.
- The Dragon's Tail is also very specific card, but opponent loses 2 cards from his deck, and its so hard to refuse from one more mill effect. You can try to use them on Wraiths in Their Midst turn, dominance action window. So, you force your opponent to discard a lot of cards without opportunity to play them.
Hope, you enjoy this deck too ;)

I have been accused of being a bit crazy in my deck builds from time to time...the Shagga is strong with me. BTW, loot won me the second game of my pillage wins. Lanni Player with 5 gold left and an empty hand post valar let me get an UO challenge through and I took 5 cards with it, and he only had 4 left. If I drew it early game I would have hated it. As a "closer" in this deck, it worked. Reader is, by himself, pretty meh. Its the ability when comboed in my deck with the Longships/stealth/intimidate/kill. Eyes on the prize, if it takes cards away from them, its good. If it doesn't...well do you really need it. |
Check out my build of this at thronesdb.com This has won by decking now 3 times out of about 10 plays...and sadly is over 60% win percentage over all with its other wins coming with just gaining too much power before I could run them out of cards.
If you are truly trying to deck them with this build, you are missing on several points. The Reader's +3 discard is your main weapon to employ to speed kill their deck. Need more than 1x of him. I removed the crown as, even though it added pillage to a character, it also gave ways to gain power which was another reason I was winning before I could run them out of cards. Asha, Theon, and Balon all add power through either UO or Renown, so they were cut as well.
If you are trying to make a deck that wins and happens to use pillage, this may work. If you want to run them out of cards you need to go harder on theme.
