With this deck I won the Reggio Emilia (Italy) Store Championship (21 players). I changed the deck a little bit with respect to my previous one (https://thronesdb.com/decklist/view/7970/nw_the_great_wall-runner-up-1.0) in order to adapt it to the really rushing meta: I remove the Nightmares (such a hard choice XD) and I add 3 The Sword in the Darkness to surprise my opponents (that often make the first challenge just to make me kneel some characters) and to stop the LotC agenda, especially the Tyrell/LotC deck that for me is a great trouble; I also replaced Counting Coppers with A Feast for Crows (pls don't beat me XD) this plot give me 6 gold (useful to play expensive key characters like Qhorin Halfhand or Benjen Stark and could give me two extra points!
I went 4-1 in the Swiss:
-
round 1: win vs Greyjoy/fealty. I saw The Wall in the first turn and I was able to defend it, also thanks to the The Sword in the Darkness and then I made powers faster than him.
-
round 2: win vs Tyrell/fealty. I saw The Wall at turn 2 thanks to building orders. And I was able (thanks to castle black) to win most of the challenges as the defending player in order to prevent him to make to much powers with his renown. I accelerated the power grab by making few successfull challenges with Qhorin Halfhand. also in this case The Sword in the Darkness helped me. (I like this match a lot!).
-
round 3: win vs Night's Watch/beanner of the lion. this was a very interesting deck played by Nimer! luckily he didn't see the wall or any tatch against my deck...I liked his deck a lot, an alternative way to defend the wall.
-
round 4: loss vs Tyrell/LotC against Pietro. This deck is my nemesis but this time was a really close game thanks to a The Sword in the Darkness used at the right moment. but he played really well and won before my winter festifal made me win.
-
round 5: win vs Targaryen/KoS. I set up The Wall, and it's STR bonus is a really nuisance for targ. And with the rapidity of my plot deck i closed the game at the fourth plot.
-
Top 4: win vs Greyjoy/fealty. I started with four characters and he turned Valar Morghulis and save some characters with Risen from the Sea. Then I made up my board with aemon and double Benjen Starkand Qhorin Halfhand and then I killed his Balon Greyjoy (Core)and Esgred with my Valar Morghulis and...gg. Cool match anyway.
- Final vs Targaryen/Fealty against Pippo "Pentolaccia". The match was decided at the first plot when Pippo made a mistake which allowed me to save my Qhorin Halfhand. After that turn I defended the wall (not all the turns in order not to risk my Maester Aemon (WotW) to die because of Dracarys!) and made power with the plot. I liked this match very much.
I would like to thank Joe From Cincinnati for ispiring me to play this faction ;)
