It's simple. Play big plots. Get money. Play first. Drop Mme. Mirri and Sir SmashMouth down with a Salty Chair, target-kill all their important shit, win game, make opponent flip table.

I'd recommend

+3 Crones of Vaes Dothrak

+2 The Reader

+1 Jorah

–1 Waking the Dragon

–1 Handmaiden

–2 Illyrio

–1 Wildling Scout

–1 Alannys Greyjoy

Get some Crones/Reader kill in there, with slightly better meshing with economy cards.

@chriswhite So the crones build is something I've already built and playtested, and it's simply a different deck. Now that the regional is over, I'm going to playtest it more and see if it's viable. Problem with crones is that they're actually counter-synergistic with Mirri, who wants to replace claim effects of intrigue with targeted kill. As for the handmaiden, it's definitely a flex slot - really good for Asha though. Probably won me two games with Asha.

Which is also why we want Illyrio, who stands Mirri to make 2 targeted kill challenges a turn - 3 if we have seastone and greyjoy nonsense. That's my take - I think those are two different decks, though very similar in goal. I'd love your feedback on the current build with crones though, I don't think it's quite there/streamlined (and no, NOT because of Loot. Loot is dope.)

I think people are Under Valuing the use of Illyrio in BotD decks. He's key to Mirri being so good and even helps the Bara match up a alot. This is a really good deck, I think its only counter is Icon Manipulation from Martel.

@Banjo100% with you there. Any deck with strong power characters like Balon/Mirri/Asha are MASSIVE with "free" stand (Illyrio's is non-conditional, unlike, say, Asha's) Which is a huge reason I took the hit to the curve and played him here.

Bara kneel is still a rough match-up if they see an early Rob+Mel, but that's what the Stealth aims to deal with, and as you say, the icon removal is really the chief concern otherwise - multiple Mirri challenges + Seastone threat is pretty unstoppable once it's all out on board.

True Steel changes all of this, though...

in my version i added some Fishing Net's and swapped the salty navigators for Raider from Pyke so I can throw around fishing nets whenever i need to. I also added 2 The Kraken's Grasp to make things that much easier

@Fruggles what changes do you see to this with True Steel?
