Rules FAQ

  • The reaction can be triggered only after all When Revealed abilities have resolved.

  • You can trigger Weirwood Grove even when an opponent reveals a new plot outside of the plot phase (for instance, with "The Rains of Castamere").

  • You are considered to be the controller of the plot while you initiate its When Revealed ability, so the immunity granted by cards like Septa Mordane or Maester Luwin will not work for you, but it will work for your opponents.

  • If an opponent has Outwit revealed, they can use it to cancel the When Revealed ability you are trying to initiate with Weirwood Grove (assuming they also have a Maester and their faction card is still standing). Other cards that can potentially cancel the When Revealed ability include Fear Cuts Deeper Than Swords, Lord Protector's Retainer, Rickon Stark and Someone Always Tells. For Someone Always Tells, the phrase "opponent's event or triggered plot ability" will always apply to the player triggering Weirwood Grove, not to the owner of the plot Weirwood Grove is trying to trigger.

  • If an Omen plot card is revealed, Gared can kneel the faction card before Weirwood Grove could be used.

  • You can initiate the When Revealed ability of Varys's Riddle to initiate the When Revealed ability of your own plot again.

  • At Prince Doran's Behest will be gone by the time you could initiate its When Revealed ability (unless a player reveals it as their final plot).

  • If you initiate the When Revealed ability of Power Behind the Throne, you must put a stand token on Power Behind the Throne rather than on your own plot. The controller of that plot can then use that stand token to stand a character.

  • Pulling the Strings will let you initiate the When Revealed ability of a plot in an opponent's used pile, not in yours.

  • Initiating the When Revealed ability of Summer Harvest will let you define the value of X on Summer Harvest as 2, in the same way Varys's Riddle does. If the value of X has already been defined as a different number, the first player decides which value of X is used.

  • If you initiate the When Revealed ability of a City plot (for instance, A City Besieged), it will check for the number of City plots in your used pile, not in the used pile of the plot's owner.

  • If you initiate the When Revealed ability of The Last Greenseer again, you just switch the base values back to the way they were before The Last Greenseer first triggered.
