I was surprised how much I liked Summons in this deck. Being able to find and play whatever icon I need most to defend the Wall helps the deck a ton. Also a great plot to recover from after your opponent uses Varys, as you can go find the icon that you still need to defend the Wall, dependent on your hand and what is left on your side of the field. In this scenario, even a Steward at the Wall would be a good pull from Summons, if you don’t have any intrigue icons on the board.

I hate to remove Confiscation from the deck, as having Benjen milked can really hurt. But it had to be done to solve bigger problems. I considered taking out Fortified Position as well, but decided that it is too valuable against stealth and Balon.

The Noble Lineages protects your characters from Plaza of Punishment, which is really nice since Targ is a big weakness for the Night’s Watch, considering they have so much character removal that burns through saves from Aemon and dupes. Sansa and Arya especially. It doesn’t actually benefit them at all from an icon standpoint, but it incredibly valuable if it saves them from Seastone Chair and Plaza. If you aren’t playing against Targ or Greyjoy, you can attach it to Samwell, Syrio, Will or the Stewards at the Wall for added icon protection.

With the new chapter pack coming out this week, I’m really excited to continue testing this deck and we’ll see if it, or my other deck, Night’s Watch Banner of the Sun, will be the superior deck. They have a lot of similarities, but a lot of differences as well.
