31 players. 5 rounds of swiss: Wins against Bara Fealty, Bara Lannister, Lanni Targaryen, Stark Fealty. Lose against Lannister Fealty.
Top 8 cut: Wins against Bara Lannister and 2x Stark Fealty.
Hi, congratulations. I'm thinking about playing GJ deck on our regionals. Still not decided if Fealty or Banner of the Dragon. I see you were playing agresive deck. Did you consider Banner of the Dragon? Or some choke theme? And what about MVPs or changes you would do after the tournament? Was draw a problem? Thanks
this is a nice deck - we do not sow seems very strong right now. did you ever want a second winter plot for against winterfell? are there any changes you would suggest moving forward? maybe a third put to the sword?
@CoewolfYes, I considered Banner of the Dragon, but I chose fealty because it is faster winning power. Its better against mirror matches and against stark rush decks.
The best cards are the big personalities and seal of the hand, besides the better plot, as you know Rise of the kraken. The deck wins in 3 or 4 turn. No problems drawing due to 6 cards to draw and forcing fast matches.
@YEEZUSI have not considered including another winter plot because I do not know which plot to replace. Normally, it is not necessary because in first snow turn you do all the huge things to stark winning the match in following turn with Rise.
After playing, I think it would be nice to include 2xThe Kraken's Grasp, but I do not know what cards to replace.
Congratulations! My GJ (Crossing) deck has only 2 main differences Milk instead of PttS. I also reacrivated We do not, these days it is an auto include.
If you want to add Kraken's grasp, I would prolly remove some Iron fleet scouts... I used to be a big fan, but good players just do the math with them and I found them only to be useful when I was in the better position anyways (it can still always put some pressure on my opponents though)
so if the deck is trying to win fast would you ever think to cut euron? he is good but expensive and lacks stealth. renown is good though...
I would say I rarely see a deck with only 2 sea towers
3 Seastones? And only 29 characters, 12 of which are the same 4 uniques? Surprised this manages to do well on setup character wise or not die horribly to targeted kill/mass military/tears.
Set up are great with all the locations and you have some nice ways to save from kill...
Assuming you pull an Iron Mines at the start. Relying on Risen is dangerous as most decks are packing Hands Judgement or some kind of event cancellation these days. But not playing more than 1 character at the start will just ask for a Marched to the Wall.
Was True Steel legal for the Tournament? I would be a bit wary of 3x Theon with so much Ward in the meta
Marched is not a problem since you don't need to set a big char with all that locations, you can just put salty, or shipwright, or scout and then marshall your big guy.
Cancel event beside HJ are very predictable, and you got lot's of dupes to save your guys anyway
Yeah, dupes (still a rule that shouldn't have been made) not with my draw luck they won't! :P Some cancellations are predictable yes, but HJ is the main one and for that to be unpredictable is nasty.
You can't have the perfect deck :D with 0 downside ! And usually (depending on the meta for sure) heavy mill deck do not run 3 HJ. There will be some game where it will rekt you, but this is a fast deck usually you will just rekt the board early and win turn 4 as the owner said.
Three wins with GJ against Bara is no mean feat... Congratulations on the tournament win.
My first reactions to seeing this deck was "too many locations, not enough characters". But then, when I really look at it, it makes perfect sense. 25% of your deck is either saves or dupes, so barring a catastrophe, your characters should be quite safe. The locations back them up well, and I can see why it has been successful. Did you ever have any problems drawing characters, getting stuck with only locations with your draw?
If I were to put in Krakens Grasp (you should, you certainly have a handle on the initiative) then I would probably swap out a Seastone Chair and an Iron Fleet Scout. But what do I know, you're the one with the success! :)
Just one question. I play with a similar deck, just with a few more characters. All my plots give me the initiative if they are well played. However I always run out of cards so quickly. Did you miss having Counting Coppers or others?
@YEEZUSEuron is totally neccesary, he has int icon with 6 str, and some matches are won reutilizing kingsroad from opponent.
@MargareyWillHaveMyBabies!The distribution works perfectally because the deck has setups very strongs with 4, 5 cards. No problem against kill decks, here you have six cards to save and five cards against opponent characters.
@DzerardsTrue steel was legal. 3xW do not sow against ward.
@hagarrrand @LannisterNormally, the deck has not draw problems with 2 Littlefinger and other 4 cards for recursive drawn. In the case you havent that cards, normally you will have recursive kill instead, then no problem if you dont have cards in hand.
I have won several times with this deck without hand, only playing the two cards per round
It's impotant to show that it's a 3-4 rounds deck.
Could you just take a look at this and give me some advice? :)
@LannisterSorry, but I cannot see your deck, I have not access to it.
Great deck, congrats. I was also playing in the Madrid Regional. I think you can maybe spare 1/2-The Seastone Chair, 1-Great Kraken for 1-Support of the People (this is gold for greyjoy i think) / 1-Superior Claim.
Are you sure you want to delete this decklist?
