Taken from another deck that took a SC.
Plots, nothing special. Winter Festival was great for adding a bit more pressure on between The Wall and Benjen Stark. Use Here to Serve and card draw to get Maester Aemon (Core) out to save for your Valar Morghulis turns.
Craven and Milk of the Poppy were amazing all day, easy to find with Building Orders and Counting Coppers and Messenger Raven.
Qhorin Halfhand was an absolute monster. hes big, has renown, hard to blank, if your opponenet messes up they lose a chump (kill an opponents Ranging Party when he messed up in one game)
Matches:
First Round Nights Watch/Winter A Mance Rayder NW deck. I set up The Wall and a few other bits. He didnt see White Tree early enough but did get Mance Rayder duped on setup. he got Milk of the Poppy right away and Maester Aemon (Core) some Ranging Party and Qhorin Halfhand tidied the game up.
Second Round Baratheon / Summer
The was a maths game. We chip away at each other me taking The Wall power, and him getting dominance and Chamber of the Painted Table. I end up pulling all of my Milk of the Poppy and some Craven locking down his [Maester Cressen] and later his Melisandre (Core) and throwing Craven onto two Fiery Followerss to remove his last intrigue icons. Messenger Raven kept pulling me Benjen Stark with him dying to my Valar Morghulis, his Wildfire Assault and my Valar Morghulis again on plot 8 or something. The Haunted Forest won this game in the end preventing Robert Baratheon from having enough power to finish out the game.
Third Round Greyjoy "The Rains of Castamere"
He gets a nice setup, duped Esgred Sea Tower and some lil guys. marshells Balon Greyjoy (Core) and a few more bits. i've got The Wall and some Shadow Tower Mason and The Haunted Forest. firs turn Milk of the Poppygoes on Esgred. he gets through an unoposed challenge and We Do Not Sow on The Wall over the milk which i think was a mistake. I Valar Morghulis since he has no saves for Balon Greyjoy (Core) (The Hand's Judgment ready for Risen from the Seaanyway) leaving him with blank Esgred and me with Maester Aemon (Core). Next round Victarion Greyjoy comes out and gets hit by Craven. I rebuild and he gets out Asha Greyjoy next turn but more The Haunted Forestand a new wall found with some Messenger Ravenand Old Forest Hunter and eventually Qhorin Halfhand himself end the game quite quickly after Risen from the Sea gets canceled.
Top 2 Cut Baratheon/Summer
Final is same opponent from round two. Great player and great guy. Game went somewhat similar to the first but he didn't find Chamber of the Painted Table (Support of the People for an The Iron Throne to prevent me taking dominance with The Wall running)l but does get Stannis Baratheon (Core)and Robert Baratheon. he throws Lightbringer on Bob which felt like a mistake. Valar Morghulis does very little in this game as he dupes and Bodyguard everyone. Once again The Haunted Forest is amazing here. He was unlucky not to see Melisandre (Core) sooner i was also disapointed not to see anymore Milk of the Poppy or Craven till quite late (Building Orders for a The Roseroad turn 2). The Wall and some Ranging Party and Castle Black prevent him from being able to keep up with the power gain and it ends 15-11
MVP: The Haunted Forest this card is silly. lets the wall trigger amazingly easily.

It was a toss up between him and Yoren. ended up going with Yorensince he was cheaper, wanted to keep the cost down since Qhorin Halfhand inn the deck. I ended up only seeing Yoren once and he did nothing (Valar Morghulis had him in hand but nothing in discard pile). Craster is definitely an option but you'd definietly want to be keeping on top of your money and draw pretty well to make sure you get him down in time for Valar Morghulis! |
Solid deck. One question: given this is a straight NW deck, why no Dragonglass Dagger? |

Great report. You're right in that the Haunted Forest is silly. Question: why did you decide to exclude Craster when you run Valar? It allows you to keep an extra body on the board, and could help you after an opponents 2 claim plot turn if they have one.
